All religion is a lie

As many of you I too wanted to have a knowledge of the Bible, at least enough to be comfortable with my understanding of it. I never desired to be a religious person. I still have that view, one that sees a big difference between worship of the creator and religion. In short I will get right to my point, all religion is an invention of man. Religion really has no place in true worship of the creator. When I say that all religion is mans invention I mean ALL religion. I remember the day that thought became so clear to me. Suddenly so many things were clear to me. To be able to think of the god of the bible in a non religious manner was like a breath of fresh air. John Lennon was right, imagine there was no religion, just a true understanding of things around us. I know this kind of thinking must piss off a lot of people or perhaps it is as refreshing to you as it is for me. I have come to view religion in the same light as I view government, something that cannot be trusted.

Religion is man made. But knowing God is not about religion. It's about relationship with Jesus Christ. Religion is about man trying to get to God, whereas Christianity is about God coming to man through Jesus Christ. Religion is man centered. Whereas Christianity is God centered. Now, sometimes Christians can get into religion and forsake their first love. Sometimes we act like men instead of like Jesus and as we grow in maturity we understand it isn't about religion, but Jesus. We can never add anything to Jesus. It always has to be about Him. When we add rules, laws, traditions etc. We make it something it was never about.

We have to remember not to throw out the Truth when throwing out man made additions to the Truth or down right counterfeits to the Truth.

Thats right trekin4jc, "When we add rules, laws, traditions etc. We make it something it was never about." I have yet to find a single religious group that doesn't try to control their flock by the addition of rules and man made traditions.

Right or wrong?
